Lesley Lasker, LMFT – Founder & Clinical Director of Lasker & Associates

Lesley Lasker is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC53018) and a Parent Education Specialist who is known for her warm and compassionate presence. She works collaboratively with her clients, helping them navigate the challenges of life, relationships, parenthood, career, and life transitions. Lesley’s first priority is to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients feel truly heard and supported. Her clients often share that they feel a genuine connection with her, allowing them to build trust, explore difficult issues, and experience meaningful growth.

Lesley’s therapeutic approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a Narrative twist, helping clients not only identify and change unhelpful thought patterns but also rewrite the stories they tell about themselves. She believes that by reshaping these narratives, clients can gain fresh perspectives, heal from past experiences, and step into a more empowered and fulfilling future.

In addition to working with individuals, Lesley enjoys working with couples and families.  In her work with couples and families, Lesley draws from a Family Systems approach and her advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a research-backed method for strengthening relationships. She believes in helping couples and families not just repair what’s broken, but also deepen their connection and communication for long-term, fulfilling relationships.

In addition to her private practice, Lesley is a dedicated Parenting Specialist. Trained by Jackie Rosenberg of Babies First Class, she spent 11 years leading continuing education classes for parents of young children, guiding them through the joys and challenges of raising a growing family.

Lesley’s dedication to the field extends beyond therapy sessions. She has served in various roles, including:

  • Founder & Clinical Director of Lasker & Associates
  • Clinical Supervisor in Private Practice
  • Intern Supervisor at The Maple Counseling Center
  • Adjunct Faculty Member at Phillips Graduate Institute
  • School Therapist at Carpenter Community Charter School

Lesley earned her Master’s Degree in Psychology with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy from Phillips Graduate Institute, graduating with honors. During her studies, she received specialized training in substance abuse, domestic violence, and child development. She is also an active member of professional organizations, including the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), the Phillips Graduate Institute Alumni Association, the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT), and the Los Angeles Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy (LACEFT).

When she’s not working with clients, Lesley enjoys hot yoga, hiking, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. She values connection, movement, and creativity—bringing the same passion to her personal life as she does to her work with clients.

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and Lesley understands that taking that first step isn’t always easy. That’s why she approaches every client with warmth, curiosity, and respect—ensuring that from the very first session, they feel safe, supported, and empowered to explore whatever is on their mind.
